Networking Lunches

Networking Lunches are open to all AMP 2022 Annual Meeting registered attendees.* They do not require payment or pre-registration. Please note that seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Networking Lunches close when room capacity is filled.

Thursday, November 3rd

New to AMP? First Time at the Annual Meeting? – New Member and First Timers Lunch
(Hosted by the Membership Affairs Committee)
Time: 12:30pm – 2:00pm
Location: Room 126, North Building, Level 100
Description: New to AMP? First Time at the Annual Meeting? Join us for lunch!  This event is an opportunity to network with other first time attendees and new AMP Members.  Current members of the Membership Affairs Committee will be on hand to answer questions and help you kick off a great experience at this year's AMP meeting!

 

AMPlify Your Voice: The Future of AMP Advocacy Luncheon
(Hosted by the Professional Relations Committee)
Time: 12:30pm – 2:00pm
Location: Room 127, North Building, Level 100
Description: The Professional Relations Committee (PRC) coordinates, strategizes, and implements the Association’s initiatives with government, coalitions, trade associations, and patient and professional organizations to inform and influence policy discussions that have an impact of the practice of molecular pathology. Learn the latest updates on AMP’s advocacy efforts, including protecting the AMP v. Myriad decision, stopping the VALID Act, supporting CLIA Modernization, and enhancing patient advocacy engagement, as well as discover ways members can get involved! AMP develops its policy positions based on the needs of its membership and in order to ensure they are appropriate and up to date, it is important to connect with the membership and understand their current practice, priorities, and concerns. This luncheon is an opportunity for attendees to engage in a discussion with PRC members on current advocacy activities as well guide the advocacy team’s focus going forward.

Trainee Networking Luncheon

Description: Trainees, students, and junior faculty: Join us for an opportunity to network with faculty and other trainees in molecular pathology, while learning about career opportunities in our field! Between lunch and a free textbook raffle, come have a great time with the Training & Education Committee at the AMP 2022 Annual Meeting & Expo.

Technologist Networking Luncheon – Conversations About Career Development

Description: The luncheon will be a social opportunity to share working and learning experiences.

 

DEI Working Group Networking Luncheon
(Hosted by the AMP DEI Working Group)
Time: 11:45am – 1:15pm
Location: Room 127, North Building, Level 100

Description: This networking lunch continues the popular member engagement program of the AMP Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Working Group, which was formed in 2021 to address inequality issues and to promote DEI within the AMP community. After a brief review of AMP’s DEI activities, attendees will participate in roundtable discussion. Discussion topics may include bias in the workplace, race and ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation and gender identity, developmental and acquired disabilities, socioeconomic status, and multigenerational diversity.  The discussion goal is for attendees to share their own challenges and/or successes in the workplace in any aspect of DEI as well as learning from the experience from others. The lunch is open for ALL attendees who wish to learn and engage in conversations about DEI.
