TECHNOLOGIST INNOVATIONS SESSION - Moving the Molecular Lab Forward
Announcing a new opportunity for technologists at the AMP 2022 Annual Meeting & Expo! The success of molecular pathology is in great part due to the direct hands-on efforts of technologists. The session will provide an opportunity to hear the latest advances and solutions in molecular technology methods. This will result in a more knowledgeable technologist community.
The TECHNOLOGIST INNOVATIONS SESSION will consist of three presentation segments focused on new technologies or improvements and helpful troubleshooting tips for current methods presented by technologists currently using the method or who have optimized or designed a new process. If possible, that technologist’s supervisor or PI will also participate in the presentation. Presentations should be approximately 25 minutes (plus an additional 3 minutes for questions) in length and be designed to allow for audience participation.
IMPORTANT: Technologists submitting to present in this session are also eligible to apply for Technologist Travel Awards and are eligible to be selected for both programs. You can learn more about Award options for Technologists, here.
Call for Submissions:
Each technologist presentation will be selected by AMP based on an application process. Laboratory directors may submit a proposal on behalf of a technologist that is not currently an AMP member. Technologists that are AMP members may submit their own presentation proposals.
The choice of topic is open but may fall into one of the following categories:
Participant Benefits:
Up to 3 Technologists will be selected to make presentations will receive a $1,000 honorarium to cover meeting fees, and travel and lodging expenses for the technologist. In addition, AMP will pay the dues for an additional year of AMP membership for each of the three technologist presenters.
