Joy Nakitandwe, PhD, HCLD/CC (ABB), MB(ASCP)cm is a Professional Staff member in the Molecular Pathology and Cytogenomics Section, Laboratory Medicine Department, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Institute (PLMI) at Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH. She has worked on cutting edge translational genomics research projects and co-authored over 30 publications in peer-reviewed journals. Since 2012, she has developed and validated several high-complexity clinical genomics tests, including Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS), Whole Exome Sequencing (WES), Whole Transcriptome Sequencing (RNA-Seq) as well as Targeted gene panels, used in human oncology, constitutional and SARS-CoV-2 testing in Molecular Diagnostic laboratories. She is also skilled in Bioinformatics Genomics data analysis from her training and extensive experience in working with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and other molecular omics data.
