Dr. Woodworth's research is primarily focused on the translational study of microbiome therapies like fecal microbiota transplantation and metagenomic methods to identify its potential mechanisms of action. The long term goal of his work is to translate recent advances in microbial ecology and high-throughput sequencing technology to develop novel approaches to reduce colonization with antibiotic resistant bacteria.
